If you enroll with an electricity retailer, you are making a commitment to purchase electricity from the retailer for a certain period of time. If you choose to terminate your contract early (and after your grace period ends), you may have to pay a charge that is defined in your contract.
For Residential Customers
Once your contract ends…it’s over. You will automatically be converted back to standard billing.
For Commercial Customers
The rules for commercial contracts is different than residential customers and is tied directly to the verbiage in your contract. Some contracts have auto-renewal clauses with a time period for you to provide notification that you would no longer like to participate in your retail contract. We advise that you review your contract for any out-clauses and early termination fees.
