Open House on Heat Pump and EVs

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our open house event on October 9, 2024. We hope you found the presentations insightful and enjoyed the opportunity to test drive one of the electric vehicles. For additional information, the presentations are available below.

HEAT PUMPS

Thank you to Mike Peddle from Environmental Heating & Cooling (callthegoat.ca). Download their presentation below:

Heat pumps offer an energy-efficient alternative to furnaces and air conditioners for all climates. Like your refrigerator, heat pumps use electricity to transfer heat from a cool space to a warm space, making the cool space cooler and the warm space warmer.

During the heating season, heat pumps move heat from the cool outdoors into your warm house. During the cooling season, heat pumps move heat from your house into the  outdoors.

Because they transfer heat rather than generate heat, heat pumps can efficiently provide comfortable temperatures for your home.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Thank you to the Team from Plug’N Drive https://plugndrive.ca/. Download their presentation below.

Electric Vehicles are the exact same as gas cars; they have the same performance, comfort and styling with one major difference, they use electricity instead of fossil fuel. Representatives from PlugNDrive will be on hand to talk about Electric Vehicles and things to know about prior to purchasing. They will also be bringing several vehicles to test drive.

NOTL Hydro doesn’t know when a resident purchases an Electric Vehicle. When there are several EVs charging on the same transformer there are potential issues with overloading local transformers. In other words, let us know when you get an EV so that we can keep track of our transformer loading and avoid potential outages. CONTACT US
