Three transformers will be beautified with the public’s help
For the fourth straight year, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Communities in Bloom Committee, Niagara-on-the-Lake Hydro and the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre are partnering to beautify three hydro transformer boxes. The theme for 2022 was directed towards saluting Canada’s military history and will be located at Fort George, near Fort Mississauga, and in front of the Legion on King Street.
A selection of the art pieces submitted is shown below:
Niagara-on-the-Lake Hydro has beautified 9 other transformers throughout the Town since 2019.
All submissions are now available for viewing at the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre. A jury will select 2 of the pieces to wrap and the public will have their say on the third piece. Voting can only be done at the Pumphouse Arts Centre in person until Friday, September 9th. The 3 winners will receive a $500 honorarium, courtesy of Niagara-on-the-Lake Hydro and will be announced on Thursday, September 15, 2022.
The Niagara Pumphouse is located at 247 Ricardo Street near Navy Hall. It is open to the public Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
