Food & Toy Drive Wraps Up

December 21, 2016

Niagara-on-the-Lake Hydro would like to thank all area residents and businesses that donated Food, Toys and over $260 towards its Annual Food & Toy Drive.

“In an area often seen as affluent as Niagara-on-the-Lake, there are still many families who need help to put food on the table”, said NOTL Hydro President Tim Curtis. “We’re very thankful for our customer’s generosity and look forward to continuing the tradition again next year.”

The majority of the food & cash donations were collected during the annual Christmas parade on Saturday, December 10th with NOTL Hydro staff and families collecting donations from parade watchers and storing them on their decorated truck.

All food & cash donations were routed to Newark Neighbours to provide to needy residents in Niagara-on-the-Lake. While food was on the needy list for Newark Neighbours, toys were less of a worry this year due to family sponsorship. All toys collected were divided up and were delivered to Gillian’s Place in St Catharines as well as Project SHARE in Niagara Falls.
